Hello,

It was a slow winter for painting. I did work on the business side of things and I have a full schedule planned for this year. I have targeted 21 exhibitions that I am interested in entering during 2010: Lyme Art Association, Mystic Art Association, Cheshire Art League, The Salmagundi CLub, and Oil Painters of America are just a few on my list. I have also set my sights on a competition sponsored by "The Artists Magazine". As with most of these types of exhibitions the competition will be tough (there are many excellent painters out there that I will be up against) and so we will have to wait until juding time before I will know which shows I get accepted into.

Video Documentary

I have begun working on something new... online videos for my website. My goal is to provide online video tutorials where I can demonstrate my painting techniques. In addition to painting tutorials, I have seen the potential benefits of creating video documentaries of my activities, that (if done right) could make following my art career more interesting and informative to my supporters. I have uploaded the first such documentary video to my art journal. (see link under picture) For my first project I have two videos planned that document what is involved in entering an exhibition all the way through to a potential sale. The first video of the two part series has been completed, the second part will come out in a few weeks after the final exhibition auction. This is my first video production so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am continuing to move in the direction of offering my own painting lessons. I am working on my lesson outline / plan and I will be giving a presentation of my landscape painting techniques at the May 2010 Chershire Art League monthly meeting - I will be the guest presenter.

The Cheshire Art League held a fall art show at the Cheshire Nursery. Each member of the league was provided wall space and I hung five of my smaller works.

As always... my websites continue to be a focus for me. I have added a new image zooming feature to the gallery section. You can now see my paintings unframed, framed and in a displayed state by clicking on the links under each artwork.




As I mentioned in my opening statement I am starting to develop news types of content, and online videos will be regular feature of my websites going forward.
