Hello Everyone,
I have had so many wonderful and exciting things happen over the past 4 months since my last newsletter. I've released a new website, have had opportunities to show my work in several exhibitions with much positive feedback, I have been accepted into an upcoming exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in New York, New York, and I have joined the board of directors of the Cheshire Art League and will be in charge of the league website. If the last 5 months are any indication, this should prove to be a very exciting year.

UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS: Salmagundi Club!!!!
I am pleased to announce that my painting "The Field's Edge" was recently accepted by jury into the upcoming "Annual Painting and Sculpture Non-Members Exhibit" at the Salmagundi Club in New York, New York. Over 500 artists submitted as many as 3 works each for the exhibit and only 130 paintings were accepted! I am very proud of this achievement. The award judging will take place late June once the accepted artworks have been received at the gallery. Lets hope that "The Field's Edge" wins an award.

This will be my first time showing art in New York City. In addition I have been asked to join the Salmagundi Club. I already have one of the two sponsors needed for entry. Becoming a member of the Salmagundi Club will provide me with exposure to the New York art scene and the opportunity to show my art at the Salmagundi gallery during any number of exhibitions open to it's members throughout the year.

OTHER NEWS:
There are many more things I'm working on this year. There are several exhibits coming up at Lyme Art Gallery and the Mystic Art Center that I will be submitting to. I am also planning to enter a few national exhibitions. I am nearing completion on two new paintings that I feel are my best works yet. I am excited to share those with you in my next newsletter. WWW.OKEEFE-ARTS.COM UPDATE!!!
I have completely redesigned the www.okeefe-arts.com website. It is now a much more "warmer" site, i.e. colors, and the navigation menus are easier to use among other updates and changes. I have added the option of buying my Giclee reproductions with a choice of several high quality frames. I am very excited about the new look of the site. |
CHESHIRE ART LEAGUE:
I have been accepted onto the Board of Directors for the Cheshire Art League. I have been a member of the Cheshire Art League since 2008 but in April 2009 I approached the Board of Directors with a proposal to update the league's website. My proposed plan was unanimously approved and I was accepted onto the Board assigned the responsibility of releasing and then managing a new website. You can see the initial release of the website at www.cheshireartleague.org. We rolled out the site (even though sections of it are still being developed) to give people access to the league's activities and events. I expect that by fall the site will be completed. |
